April 11, 2007 - more about The Greenvville Inn -
I love how the folks who are at the Greenville when I play, listen to me, how Rodney and Jimmy are always so nice to me. I just like being there. From what I gather, it is the last bastion of old Chagrin Falls...a place where you can walk in in your pajamas if you want and the bartender will ask what he or she can get you. They won't wonder whether or not your shoes are Prada. If you live in Chagrin Falls or like to visit their popcorn/old fashion candy shop or buy Christmas trees for $97.00+, (you know, have 'em wrap it like they do in a Dr. Suess film while you sip hot chocolate), cool. But if all that comes wrapped with caring whether or not someone's shoes are Prada and you are offended by my "Prada comment", please don't write to me. I'm glad if you love your shoes, God knows I love mine, and I have experienced the "pleasures" of a $97.00 tree -Ugh!, but I won't like you any better or worse because of it. All I'm saying is, I like a place that's casual and has a "free to be you and me" feel. See, I once scoped out a pocket knife at a shop in Chagrin Falls (I think it might have been the $97.00 Christmas tree day). It was a beauty. I gazed at it lovingly through the glass. I think it was a Swiss Army Knife (which I have now by the way). But I got the distinct feeling that because I wasn't dressed up "enough" and as a consequence didn't look like I would buy (I would have gone back for that knife with a fish scalar!), that I was not given good service. I don't think it was me making it up. So see, I have a bad taste in my mouth for that little row of specialty shops. But really I should just have it for that person who was kind of jerky to me. Ok, nice therapy session and I thank you....Suffice to say, I like the Greenville Inn. I salute you Chagrin Falls for this establishment. I invite you all out to a night there with me some Wednesday. I rock it out on my own and it sounds kick ass! Plus Kitty, the bartender I met for the first time on Wednesdays is super funny! So come on people now! Do you want me to get fired? If you don't, please come to The Greenville Inn next time. What the fo???!!!!! I love you.
