ANNE E.'S JOURNAL -April 16, 2008

April 16, 2008

Hi All!

We want to apologize for the delay in getting ALL of you this email!
It was to go out April 3rd! Only a few of you received it before we experienced an internet/computer problem. By the time it was solved,
it was vacation time! And I headed to Florida to join Anne E. on the piers for fishing! (pics to come soon!) and, disappointingly, we didn't land THE BIG ONE! But sure had fun trying!
It's back to work today for me so here is the email from Anne E!
Thanks for your understanding! Enjoy your week! Sue

Hello everyone and what can I say but WOW!!!!!!

It's been over two weeks since my last show and the Winchester and I still think about it every day. I really cannot imagine it going much better. What a great feeling to have a sold out show and to share it with all of you. It was just plain fun. (read the introduction given by Sue at this link:
http://www.anneedechant.com/aedintro.html ) Thank you to you all for coming out to say farewell and to listen to me one more time before the big move. I think it took me until about 3a.m. to wind down and finally leave The Winchester that night.

Thanks to all the musicians: Tim Longfellow, Jeff Harmon, Chris DeHaas, Brian Bretton, Alexis Antes and Chris Allen for joining the band and I to help celebrate and to share their gifts with all of us. Thank you to Jim and Rebecca for hosting the night. Thank you to Ruth and Linda for taking care of the door and Erin and Carmella for working the merch. table.

I'd especially like to thank my band, Toby Packard, Pete Cavano, Paul Lewis, Kelly Wright and Matt Sobol. I think they were and are awesome. It was weird, we were playing and I thought, "we've never sounded better" then I thought, "this is it for now". Weird.

Again, I can't imagine it any better than that. Thank you all again. If you'd like to see some photos of the night use this link to view a slide show of the Winchester: (if it does not come up completely highlighted for you as a link, copy the ENITRE URL into your browswer) http://s290.photobucket.com/albums/ll248/suzanna08/AED Final Show/?albumview=slideshow&direction=reverse
We will soon have a photo album completely updated (with many more final show pics!) on my website

Thank you to Patti Harris of The Nickel for taking BOTH sets of photos from the final 2 shows!

Well, I'm all done packing (definitely one of the worst jobs in the world) and my Pod is in Nashville stored away until I get there. It's unbelievable how much shi* fits in a one bedroom apartment. Ugh!!! Thank you Sue, Yvette and especially Nancy for helping me load the Pod.

Thanks too to all the gals that met me out on Thursday night before I left. It was very sad but very good to know that people love and care about me enough to see me before I left. The hardest part of all was saying good-bye to my mom and dad. I have not lived away from home since college (Miami University, Oxford OH). But I reminded them that it's just an hour and 15 minute plane ride and that I would get one of my songs cut by a big star soon, then buy a house in Nashville and Cleveland and go back and forth. That's the plan Stan!

I'm in Florida now and will head to my new home in two weeks. So I'm chillin' chillin' like Bob Dylan! Actually I've been busy writing, submitting songs and setting up meetings but when Sue arrives on Saturday, I'm definitely chillin' out. It's all beach and ocean at that point. Florida is beautiful this time of year. We're going deep sea fishing so be prepared for some photos of me with a huge fish and huge smile and a busted gut!

I've also been working on a song for two teenage woman, sisters who sing wonderfully but need some original material. Their dad heard me sing in Nashville a few months back and wrote to me to ask if I had a song the girls could record, something upbeat, inspirational and age-appropriate. Of course my first thought was "25" then "Swastika". Seriously, I didn't really have one so I wrote some lyrics on the plane and have spent the last 2 days working on the music. It has almost driven me crazy but I think I have something ready to give to them. It's a new thing to write for someone else. While I was at it I wrote a cute little love song thinking the girls might like it as well. I really had to go back, imagine being in high school AND liking a boy. I'm quite and actress! Anyway, I think it's a good one. The two can really sing, I mean great voices. They are just 12 and 15 years old. I've been told not only to concentrate on those who have "made it" when pitching music, but also on the people sitting next to you in a room who are also trying to "make it". They could be the next big thing. That's how I feel about these two.

So that's really it from here for now. I'm sure they'll be lots to tell in the coming days. I thank you again for your support. All the kind comments are stored away inside of me and I will carry them with me. You're awesome!!!!!!
Take it easy,

Anne E.
