ANNE E.'S JOURNAL - May 30, 2007 - CD RELEASE JULY 13TH!
May 30, 2007 Greetings Everyone!
How are you? I hope that all is well and that you had a great holiday weekend. It's nice to have a short week as well. What a gorgeous Memorial Day it was. I hope you enjoyed spending some time with friends/family. I also send out prayers for those of you mourning the loss of loved ones in the armed forces and for those of you who have family and friends who are serving in them. I wish there was no need.
Thank you to all of you who attended my performances at last week's shows. Wednesday night was lovely at the Winery at Wolf Creek (http://www.wineryatwolfcreek.com/). My friend Tim Longfellow was my special guest. Thank you to Tim and to his many freinds in the area of his hometown for coming out to the Wolf Creek in Norton OH. You may want to check out this beautiful spot where you can enjoy the deck overlooking Wolf Creek Reservoir and the city of Akron skyline or find a nice spot on the lawn. Enjoy a picnic, a glass (or 3 bottles!) of wine, and great music. Please note that my performance schedule there has changed. I will not be playing there on June 13th nor on July 11th. I will be there on August 15th and Tim Longfellow will once again join me.
My Colonial Arcade gig on Friday, May 25th was really nice too. Sometimes it just goes well there. I happen to see new people and introduce them to my music. That's a nice feeling. It's great when someone discovers you, signs up for your mailing list and buys a CD. I like experiencing the diversity of Cleveland as well. So many different kinds of people walk by. Many say hello or want to talk a bit between songs. I had two nice gentlemen who I have seen maybe 3 times at the Arcade, request "Girls and Airplanes". They've only heard it at the Arcade. That was such a nice surprise. They also requested "Stand" from my CD "Effort of the Spin". I don't know how to play that one....yet!!! (I did not write the guitar part for this one - my former band mate and friend, Frank Romano, now guitarist for Rob Thomas, wrote the guitar part which I have never played)
So then I had the full band show at The Winchester. It was Kick Ass!!!! It was Memorial Day Weekend so I didn't know what to expect, (You never do. Ask any club owner) considering all the Rib Burn Offs and the what nots going on around town. It was a rainy day and that can change things too. But it did not change many peoples' plans to come out to The Winchester (http://www.thewinchester.net) to hear Mobile Ave. (thanks guys, you were great!) and then the band and I. Thanks to Pete Cavano for standing in on bass. Pete, you sounded great! Thanks to to Jim and Rebecca for hosting the night. Happy Birthday once again to owner, Jim Milieti.
BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE RELEASE OF GIRLS AND AIRPLANES WILL TAKE PLACE JULY 13TH AT THE WINCHESTER IN LAKEWOOD OHIO!!!!!!!!!!! MARK YOUR CALENDARS. DETAILS WILL BE COMING SOON. FOR NOW, PLEASE NOTE THE DATE AND PLACE. THINGS WILL GET STARTED AROUND 9PM. There'll be special guests, give aways, raffles, and, most importantly, my latest release!!!! I'm really pleased to have finally worked through over 2 months of researching clubs. It's crazy that I've stuck with the Winchester after all that. But not really. It's just the best choice as I see it. I really did meet with several venues and explore many options with those venues. When it boiled down to it, I chose the Winchester. I'll be working with Vertical Sound (http://www.verticalsoundpro.com) on the production aspects of the show. I'm in good hands and I thank Rich at Vertical for always providing me with the info. I need and for being fair and professional. Rich and I have worked together for over 12 years and I'm so glad that we have such a great working relationship. Rich and Alison have built an excellent business! The CD Release is going to be fantastic!!!
So there you have it. That's news for now. Oh, tonight, Pete, Kelly and I will be at The Greenville Inn (http://www.thegreenvilleinn.com) in Chagrin Falls. Pete's gonna play guitar (he's awesome) and Kelly will be singing as well as, as you probably know, yappin' off!!! I do love this venue. Come on out!!!! Show starts at 9:30PM, admission is free, the beer is cold and the music great!
...and for the rest of the weekend, note the Barking Spider on Friday evening! Always a favorite spot of mine, the band, and the fans! This time of year the "walls" will be opened wide and you can sit outside while enjoying the music and a cold beer!
