Greetings to you all and welcome to new mailing list members! I'm in Avon Lake Ohio hanging out after a beautiful celebration for my friend, Kelly Boyte Peters Brill, pastor of The Avon Lake United Church of Christ. Kelly was honored by her congregation this past Sunday. We celebrated her 20 years in the ministry. The sanctuary was packed and I was so happy to be asked to be a part of the event. Talk about a woman who walks the walk....Congratulations Kelly! I found out recently that two artists are cutting my songs. The first is the song "Friends Like You" co-written with Jim Pollock and Terry B. Smith. It is being cut by Austrailian artist, Kristi James Kristi is in-studio now recording and filming her video for the song which has been chosen as a single!!!! Look for the song to drop on October 20th. More good news from Switzerland. A group, who I am not allowed to announce yet, is recording "A Little Wine". My song co-written with Kathryn Scheldt. More news on that later. In the mean time we have been busy at DeChant central mailing out Indiegogo Packages, working with my radio promoter in order to send 150 CDs to Americana Radio land this Thursday and preparing for CD Release Concerts in both Cleveland and Nashville. Please note that the time of my Oct. 9th show has been moved to 6pm. Tickets for the Music Box Supper show may be purchased here. I strongly suggest that if you'd like to attend, you get your tickets now. On to other things. If there was ever a time that I SHOULD have my own fishing show, it was yesterday! I was fishing at my brother's on the Vermillion River and I was bringing in the bass left and right. I did not have my phone on me so I can't prove that I am a pro. That is why I need a camera crew. It was an awesome day of fishing....The fish, by the way, are in the water swimming around today....catch and release....I'm sure they're still angry with me though! I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Wayne Dyer. Dr. Dyer was a indie artist, so to speak, like me and many of my friends. When he was getting started, he sold his book out of the back of his pick-up. The book took off, becoming a best seller! And he gave back to his home city.... "Dyer may have lived in Hawaii, but he never forgot his Detroit roots. He was a million-dollar donor to the city's Wayne State University, establishing a scholarship fund at the college where he earned three degrees, including a doctorate in counseling. He helped raise more than $100 million for public broadcasting, including the local public broadcasting station, with motivational specials that ran for years." -USA Today He grew up in a series of foster homes. His father left when he was 3 years old. Dr. Dyer turned his life around and went on to help so many people do the same. I like this quote form his family earlier this week... “He always said he couldn’t wait for this next adventure to begin and had no fear of dying. Our hearts are broken, but we smile to think of how much our scurvy elephant (that's how one of his teachers at the orphanage referred to him) will enjoy the other side.” Carry on Wayne! To the many of you who have written me and told me how much you are enjoying the new CD, I thank you. All Indiegogo Contributors should have their perk packages. If you have not received yours, please write to me at annee@anneedechant.com We have tracking for all packages and we will find it if it is missing. Those of you who got the "Old School Vinyl" perk, I got word today that we are still a few weeks out. I will contact you as soon as they are ready and I thank you for your patience. I look forward to seeing lots of you wearing these.... If you would like a copy of the new CD, you can still make a contribution at my Indiegogo site and still get an advanced copy or you can visit www.anneedechant.com on Sept. 18th and order it OR you can attend a CD Release Concert, buy one and have it autographed. That is it from this end. Thanks for reading, thanks for contributing, thanks for spreading the word. Anne E. | |
