Good morning and welcome all new mailing list members. Enjoy your free download of "Donna Danced" below. DD is a song I wrote about my mother dancing with her brother Ted's photo while he was away at war. He was a gunner during WWII. He did return. (Suggestion: If you are not on the mailing list and you want to receive free downloads, discounts and be the first to get the "Where Am I" hint, visit my web site and sign up!)
You're also in luck because we are going to play "Where Am I", a game I play while I'm on the road. I photograph a sight along my route, send it to you (mailing list members get the photo hint first) and ask you to tell me (usually city and state) where I am. First to answer correctly wins a prize.
But before that let me fill you in on what's going on....
I'm home from being on the road for nearly two weeks in Eastern TN and Western NC. It's a beautiful part of our country and I'm grateful to drive the roads, see the beautiful mountains, visit with friends old and new and share my stories.
While I've been away Erin, bless her sweet heart, has continued the good fight in finding our cat Adam. If you don't know what I'm talking about go to my blog and read "Lost in Kentucky". She sets up/adjusts and monitors trail cameras daily, refreshes posters in the town of Bonnieville Ky to make sure people there know we are still searching for our darling. She sets traps, has spent a night in a barn and has driven several times a week, an hour and forty minutes from our home in Nashville to Bonnieville, to canvas the area of possibilities. Last morning I got word that Erin caught the cat that was spotted in a barn two weeks ago. We had gotten a photo of a cat on a tractor seat that looked a lot like Adam. We were very hopeful. We continued to get photos of the cat but the more we got the more we thought it wasn't Adam. Today that was confirmed. It's disappointing but we have two more leads, one a really good one and are following up on those. We do not give up one search area for another "hot" area. We respond to every call, email and text regarding a sighting of a cat that fits Adam's description.
So we will continue to look. I am back in Nashville and Erin and I will be working together again at finding Adam. I am praying for an Easter miracle. Thank you to you all for your kind notes to us and words of encouragement. It does help us every day.
Saturday I left my campsite in Bristol and headed to Chattanooga for a show at Charles and Myrtles Coffee House which is a music series housed and run with the Christ Unity Church. It was my first time playing in Chattanooga. Although I planned on joining Frye Gaillard and presenting our program, "With Music and Justice for All", it was just me last night. Frye has some unexpected family matters to attend to so I performed my solo acoustic show. I thought about imitating him and doing a sort of Phantom of the Opera mask thing, but there's was just not enough time for me to perfect it.
What a treat to be at Christ Unity Church. I was so happy to be a part of the service this morning. This church has got it going on!
Again, it's been a beautiful trip, great weather and good gigs....Here are some photos...
My camp picnic table....Still one of the best meals ever.
Here's a video of Graham Ferrell, co-host of my house concert (with the lovely Mary Ferrell, thank you for the hike Mary!!!!) in Boone NC. To book a house concert in your home click here

This is Gale Maroney, sister-in-law to my co-writer and friend David G Smith. I stayed with Gale 3 nights in Candler, while performing in Marshall NC and Black Mountain NC. Gale is a wonderful host, full of life and as kind as can be. Thank you David and Sharon for connecting me with Gale. She is always welcome in Nashville!!!
My friend Joan Brannon feeding her goats. I met Joan and Don Brannon at my performance, at High Country United Church of Christ in Vilas TN two years ago. Don and Joan let me stay in their apartment just off their house that overlooks a holler. They are lovely and so is the congregation at High Country UCC. Here Joan and I are on top of a ridge on their property. One day I'm gong to get Don to take me trout fishing....He's an expert angler.
View along I81 in Tennessee. This is a great scenic overlook along the way. Here I met Terri and David Smith. They were traveling back to NJ. Terri is an architect. I gave them a CD which they will share with their daughter who lives in Chapel Hill, one of my stomping grounds. They are a lovely couple. I took their photo but on their camera...ugh...wish I had a photo to show you.
Again, thank you to the beautiful people at Christ Unity Church who gave a perfect ending to my tour....
and now...
Where Am I (city and state)????

I'm honored to be included in this round of stellar songwriters and looking forward to sharing my songs with the audience at this iconic Music City venue.
Lastly, I wish you all a Happy Easter and a blessed Passover.
Please pray for Adam's safe return.
In the words of Mr. Rogers, "I like you just the way you are."
